Homemade Ear Cleaner Recipe 6 ounces of isopropyl alcohol 1/2 tablespoon of boric acid powder 2 ounces of white vinegar 1 teaspoon of the generic Betadine antiseptic Mix the ingredients listed I get a hair coloring bottle from the beauty supply with oz. on the side (like the one pictured above ) this makes the mixing & applying easier. You want to start by pouring the alcohol in first, then add the boric acid and shake, next the vinegar, and last the betadine., in that order as to not create the wrong chemical mixture. Then you just hold your dogs head and squirt the mixture in his ear. I like to massage the ear afterwards. And of course get out of the way because he will shake his head. Recommended Treatment Schedule is as follows: 2x per day for the first week to two weeks 1x per day for the next 1-2 weeks 1x per week if there are no problems |
